Venice, the city of love par excellence, was the setting for this luxurious Chinese wedding.
Actually, we should perhaps speak of elopement, given that it was a symbolic ceremony, in the presence of just the spouses and their parents.
The place chosen both to celebrate the exchange of vows and for the subsequent wedding reception is the Cà Sagredo hotel, one of the oldest and most elegant palaces in Venice, directly overlooking the Canal Grande. The whole wedding took place in the ballroom, under a huge ceiling frescoed by Tiepolo.
Of course, such a luxurious location required an arrangement in line with the richness and opulence of the setting. In the decorations, the prevailing colors were dull red, antique pink and gold. The famous staircase of Ca’Sagredo was literally transformed by the talented Evelina Florence Flowers, who did a truly masterful job, decorating the steps with a profusion of flowers and candles. The bride’s dress was also ivory-gold.
After the ceremony, a classic gondola tour along the canals of Venice could not be missed.
