Destination Slovenia: Lake Bled
Every year, at the end of the wedding season, we like to take a little time just for us, to rest and visit some new place.
It is crucial for us to pause to regenerate and regain the motivation, after having worked at full capacity for all summer, so as to get out of it literally “dried up”.
In 2016, the chosen destination was Slovenia, and in particular the wonderful town of Bled, mainly known for its suggestive lake.
We stayed in a truly fabulous and very quaint hotel, that we recommend to everyone: the Old Bled House, very close to the lake.
The environment in autumn is incredibly charming and cannot leave indifferent the photographers. During our stay, we visited the castle and we reached the island in the middle of the lake with a traditional boat called “Pletna“. We fell in love with the culinary specialties of the place: the cake of Bled, the mushroom soup and the delicious grilled meat.
On our way home we stopped for half a day to Postumia Caves, near the border between Slovenia and Italy, a marvel of stunning nature.
